On Thursday, there was a  Christmas Party at Baltimore’s Franciscan Center.

Every day, the center at 23rd and Howard Streets serves lunch to anywhere from 350 and 600 homeless and hungry people.

Places like the Franciscan Center are always in the spotlight this time of year, as people donate their time or money during the holidays.

This center also holds a weekly Wednesday night dinner for the poor and also offers a food pantry, clothes, housing assistance, help with heating bills and computer skills training.

Meg Ducey who is the interim executive director says while people are very generous in helping the center around the holidays, the need for help is great all year.
