The mission of the Franciscan Center is to provide assistance and supportive outreach to persons who are economically disadvantaged, in an effort to assist them in realizing their self-worth and dignity as people of God. Attire-4-Hire

Monday-Friday
Men’s professional clothing for job interviews, graduations, or other formal occasions. By appointment only. To schedule, contact Debbie Reigle at dreigle@fcbmore.org or 410-467-5340 x. 120.

Barber Services

Wednesday
Free haircuts for men.

Children's Library

Monday-Thursday
The Mary Lacy Fetting Children’s Library is a safe space for children to read, draw, or play games while their parents/guardians wait to receive our services. All books are free for children to take home, and do not need to be returned. Help us encourage literacy by donating new or gently used children’s books.

Clothing & Toiletries

Monday-Thursday
We accept donations of new and gently used clothing, which is free for guests. We also provide essential personal care items such as toothpaste, soap and shampoo, as available.

Community Dinner

Tuesday-Wednesday
Free dinner for the whole family.

Computer Classes

Monday-Friday
Our Technical Resource Center has 14 computers available for public use. Before 12:00pm, the computers are only available for job-related tasks such as application assistance, resume building, setting up an email address etc. For more information, please contact Debbie Reigle at dreigle@fcbmore.org or 410-467-5340 x. 120.

Eviction Prevention

Limited assistance available for Baltimore City residents only. Proof of income and court notice required. The Center helps with the final $200 toward the amount on the court-issued eviction notice.

Eyeglass Assistance

Limited assistance available. Costs covered up to $70. Eye exam not included.

GED Classes

Monday
Fall and Spring classes provided in partnership with Strong City Baltimore. For enrollment questions, contact Debbie Reigle at dreigle@fcbmore.org or 410-467-5340 x. 120.

Health Screenings

Thursday
Flu Shots in the Fall as well as HIV & STD testing and oral cancer screenings provided by the Baltimore Health Department.

Lunch

Monday-Friday
Free lunch for all.

Mail Service

Monday-Thursday
Those in need of a secure location to collect mail may use the Franciscan Center’s address. Pick up is at the Reception Desk on the second floor. Must present ID to collect mail.

Maryland Birth Certificates

Monday-Thursday
Limited assistance available. ID required (acceptable forms of ID include MTA ID, medical card or record, lease, or social security card etc.)

Maryland ID

Monday-Thursday
Limited assistance available. Must provide original birth certificate, social security card, and two pieces of mail.

Pantry Bags

Monday-Thursday
Department of Social Service vouchers accepted twice per month. Limited bags available for those without a voucher (first – come, first – served).

Phone Access

Monday-Thursday
Guests are welcome to use our phones for following up on job opportunities, making a doctor’s appointment, securing housing etc.

Limited assistance available. Prescription must be filled at the Safeway Pharmacy at 2401 N. Charles Street.

Everything we do at the Franciscan Center is dependent upon generous donations from our community. The goods and services listed above are available on a first – come, first – served basis and supplies are limited. Our staff have a wealth of information about services available throughout the city. If we are unable to meet your needs, we will do our best to find another organization that can.
