On behalf of the family of the Franciscan Center.. On behalf of the family of the Franciscan Center.... Happy Fathers Day to all of the dads, granddads, goddads, and all of the father figures in our lives.
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of good dads, and everything that they do for us.
Help them to have patience when we're difficult, wisdom when we can't see the way, strength when we need comforting, and love at all times, so that, through them, we get a little glimpse of how you feel about us.  Our heavenly Father, Amen.
Father's Day Celebration at our Center. Mr. Lewis Father's Day Celebration at our Center.
Mr. Lewis was delighted for two reasons - a much needed haircut - “refreshing,” he said - and for having Council President Brandon M. Scott in our midst as we honor Juneteenth, and celebrate Father’s Day.

With Jeff Griffinff Griffin, Executive Director, The Franciscan Center, Oliver Bennan, of Bmore Cutzt, and Mr. Ronald Lewis.

#Covid19 Today marks 3 months of serving our city #Covid19

Today marks 3 months of serving our city in a different way.
The very first message of help came from Community and City Leader Dr. Marvin L ‘Doc’ Cheatham, Sr.
Doc was advocating for Matthew Henson Community Development Corporation.
On March 16th we delivered 200 lunches. March 17th through March 20th we delivered 400 lunches per day for a total of 1,800 meals. This was the first time ever that we created and delivered meals to another organization.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua. A Today is the Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua. A god loving person who devoted his life to the helping the poor and outcasts of the world.
Today many pray to St. Anthony to help them find their car keys, cell phone or their glasses.
At our Franciscan Center we pray to St. Anthony to help our clients find their sobriety, their health, their passion for life. We believe St. Anthony has been with everyday since we started our journey in 1968.
Below is a link to learn more about St. Anthony. We would also ask you to consider visiting our friends at The Shrine of St. Anthony in Howard County. A beautiful place thats also home to our

James Hunt - how do we say thank you for stepping James Hunt - how do we say thank you for stepping up in our greatest hour of need?

Jamie, as he is known to his Franciscan Center family, joined us in mid-March, a couple of days after the COVID19 shutdown.

He’s a professional writer who has worked for Dartmouth, Catholic Relief Services, Mt. Vernon Cultural District, Preservation Maryland, among many other institutions.

A graduate of Loyola Blakefield and Towson University, Jamie has carried out multiple critical tasks at the Center - from delivering food in the early days of COVID19, to filling up pantry bags, to unloading the many donations from our wonderful supporters.

Jamie did an outstanding job with logistics - keeping up with the increasing demand for food, and ensuring that in the frenetic pace of our days, and weeks, no one missed a meal.

Our heartfelt gratitude, Jamie, and many blessing to you and family - today, tomorrow and always.

Virtual hugs from all of us.
